Loretta Lynch Confirmed as Attorney-General

Loretta_LynchThe final Senate vote, which was delayed for a record 164 days, was 56-43, with 10 Republicans joining all Democrats to vote “Aye”.

Lynch, the current United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, will be the first African-American woman to serve as Attorney-General of the United States.

Related: During confirmation hearing, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) asked Lynch if there was a constitutional difference between same-sex marriage and polygamy, a question which she succinctly brushed off as “legal analysis”.
